Missions Partner: Chaplain SI Suh

Current Work: Since I redeployed with my fellow Paratroopers back to Fort Bragg, NC (from Kandahar, Afghanistan), in the mid March, I've conducted two relationship retreats one each for married couples and single Soldiers.  My focus has been helping my Soldiers and Families to reintegrate after the deployment. But, now it is shifted to strengthen their soul and spirit through various spiritual fitness events for many rigorous trainings that we face.

Prayer Requests: Please pray for God's strength and wisdom so that I will continue to be His salt and light in my environment; and for His guidance in determining the next phase of my ministry and family. In late June or early July, I will find out whether or not I am to be promoted to the rank of Major.  Once the promotion board's result comes out and if I'm picked up for Major, there will be various opportunities (including educational ones at certain graduate schools) for further service to our country and God's kingdom.  So, please pray also for good discernment.

How can HOPE Church continue to partner with you? Please continue to pray for me, my family (esp. my oldest who will be going into her senior year in high school) and my ministry among the Soldiers and Families.  I cannot solicit any material help - but, if you want to send anything to me so that I can distribute to the Soldiers, I can do that.  We have plenty of Bibles, BTW.  In the past, a few churches and Christian organizations have sent me challenge coins, and other small items with Bible verses on them. They are usually well received by all; and aids my ministry to them.

A word from Chaplain Suh about Honor.

The first jumper on the left is me.  I was on "Saint Michael's Jump" which is an annual 82nd Airborne Division Unit Ministry Team event where I conduct a spiritual fitness event with several Paratroopers from my unit and share a meal with them, and then jump together, earning the 82nd ABN DIV Saint Michael's medallion.  Saint Michael is the patron saint of paratroopers.
