Pastoral Staff



Kyu (Q) Kim was born in Korea and immigrated to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1975. During his early college years, he had a personal encounter with the God of the Bible and was called to ministry. He finished his undergraduate studies in philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and later studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Pastor Q has served in many capacities- youth pastor, campus ministry founder, evangelist and church planter. He has been happily married to Joy, his wife of over 30 years, and is the father of three beautiful daughters, Anna, Amy, and Abigail. Pastor Q currently serves as the lead pastor of HOPE Church. His desire is to live as a lover of God and his passion is to see a generation of youth single-mindedly in love with Jesus Christ.




Mimi Kim graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in Government and Politics. Having discerned God’s call to ministry, she received her Master of Divinity from Regent College, an international graduate school of Christian Studies in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2004, she was ordained as a Presbyterian minister. She and her husband Hoon have been married for over 20 years and are blessed with precious twin daughters, Emma and Madelyn. Serving at HOPE Church, Pastor Mimi enjoys being part of such a diverse worshiping community. She lives by Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."




Alex Lee graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in accounting and finance. He met his wife Jessica through their involvement in campus/college ministry and share a vision for revival through college campuses. They currently lead Elevation Fellowship, the college ministry of HOPE Church, and have loved and invested in the city of College Park for over 10 years. Alex currently serves as a pastoral intern and is preparing to enter a vocation in ministry. He is the father of two beautiful boys, John Zachary and Joshua Zayith and is a loyal Terps fan.
