Missions Partners: Luka and Ghan
Location: Chiang Rai, Thailand
Bio/Overview:
Pastor Luka and his wife Ghan have their three daughters Wan, Wee, and Da and together, live among their Akha people. The Akha are one of the six hill tribes in Thailand, who migrated from China and Tibet and who now inhabit the forests on the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Burma. Pastor Luka's parents were the first Akha converts to Christianity in Thailand. The Akha Youth Development Center (AYDC) began as a ministry to Akha children who were orphaned. Today, Pastor Luka is involved with numerous ministries that seek to develop and strengthen Akha leaders and churches who will reach the more than 80,000 villages in Thailand that are still unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their current ministry involves church planting, evangelical training, the Akha medical clinic, and a self-sufficient agriculture. They are also hoping to serve and bless their neighboring countries such as Myanmar and Laos. Since 2004, H.O.P.E. has had a long-standing partnership with AYDC and Pastor Luka, sending a team out there almost every year.
How to partner with Pastor Luka and Ghan:
Pray for the running cost of their youth development center (cost of food, electricity, the transportation, etc.) and the spiritual and physical health and growth of Pastor Luka, his family, the leaders, the children, and all those they minister to.
Send a team of volunteers to come help with any type of project whether it be Health Care, Education, Agriculture, or Buildings and grounds.
