By What Authority?

Pastor Q's sermon begins with a reflection on Psalm 6 and a personal revelation he received from God, affirming that God has heard and answered his prayers. He then transitions to discussing the confrontation between Jesus and religious leaders in Luke 20:1-8. These leaders question Jesus' authority after he cleansed the temple, but Jesus cleverly responds with a question about John the Baptist's authority to reveal their insincerity. Pastor Q highlights that Jesus’ authority and actions challenge both the political and religious status quos, revealing deeper issues of belief and sincerity among the leaders. He emphasizes that true faith requires genuine acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah and warns against living by human authority or societal pressures instead of God's truth. He urges us to examine our own foundations and choices in light of God's authority and grace, especially as we face personal and societal decisions.
